Subcultured is an original documentary series that sheds a well-deserved light on the lesser-known subcultures that inspire and influence mainstream culture today, from gamers with disabilities to the cowboys and cowgirls of the gay rodeo. Filmmaker Josef Lorenzo explores the origins of different subcultures and what makes those communities unique and important spaces.

About the Host
Josef Lorenzo (they/them) is the award-winning producer/director and creative director of Sound Field. Lorenzo also served as the lead producer/director of the award-winning America From Scratch series. Lorenzo’s work on Sound Field has garnered multiple Webby and Telly Awards in 2020 and 2021. Their work on America From Scratch won a Regional Emmy® in 2018 and a Telly Award in 2019. Lorenzo’s independent films and documentaries have played in film festivals around the world.
